The Holocaust was tragic event that killed five to six million Jews. Gas Chambers were used to kill a bunch of prisoners at one this could be up to 3,000 people. Many people believe that many more were killed and that there are over a million bodies that were never found. The Nazis had many cruel ways to kill the Jews this included gas chamber were used, The way they disposed the bodies, and other types of torture they used; The Nazis were very cruel and horrible towards the Jews.

During the Holocaust, gas chambers had a major role in how prisoners were murdered. Gas chambers consisted of poisonous chemicals known as Zyclon B (Holocaust Encyclopedia). Prisoners would be told to go into the gas chambers to take a shower to prevent panic, but once the prisoners entered the disguised shower heads released the deadly gas leaving the prisoners to die (The Holocaust: A Teenagers Experience). Some of the larger gas chambers could kill 2,000 people at once(Holocaust Encyclopedia). Prisoners would take deep breathes to speed up unconsciousness to prevent suffering (Mazal Harry W. ). A Holocaust survivor announced he asked his dad “What is that smell?” his dad would not tell him (The Holocaust: A Teenagers Experience). Gas chambers played a significant

Disposal of bodies

So many people were killed at this time, so the bodies had to be placed somewhere. Many people believe there were over five million bodies not found in the Holocaust (Holocaust Encyclopedia). The Germans had killed so many Jews and gypsies that they increased their amount of ovens from six to twenty-one so they could dispose more bodies (The Holocaust: A Teenagers Experience). Bodies would be placed in trenches, and to prevent the smell and spread of diseases they would pour lime juice on the bodies (Mazal Harry W.). The Germans would get huge bulldozers to push all of the bodies together and push them into trenches (Mazal Harry W.). “I was lucky to survive, but for millions of others it was a one way journey because they were murdered by the Nazis,”  explained by a Holocaust survivor (The Holocaust: A Teenagers Experience). We will never know the actual number of people killed in the Holocaust.

Other ways of torture

During the holocaust the Jews were tortured by the Nazis. The Nazis would take a bunch of the prisoners place them in barns and burn them to death ( Holocaust Encyclopedia). For the prisoners who tried to escape they would be hung on a pole until they were unconscious and they would continue to do this to them (The Holocaust: A Teenagers Experience ). A Holocaust survivor expressed,"When we got their they split me up from my mother and I was terrified"(United Streaming). The Jews and Gypsies would be whipped to death or they would be skinned alive (Mazal Harry W.). The doctors would do medical experiments on prisoners that were never tested before (Mazal Harry W.). Torture was a huge part of the Holocaust.
